The Arkansas–Fort Smith Lions are the athletic teams that represent the University of Arkansas–Fort Smith (UAFS), located in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The Lions compete in NCAA Division II as members of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA). They’ve won 11 conference championships since 1972.

The nickname “Lions” was chosen in 1928 by the school’s first athletic director, B.A. “Red” Robbins. He believed that the lion represented strength, courage, and determination, all of which he wanted the school’s athletes to embody.
